In the same month Parliament passed an amendment that fines exam service providers up to Rs 5 crore and debars them for 8 years.

The Amendment Act changes who carries the risk.
Under the 2024 Act, a service provider that helped conduct a public examination faced a fine of up to Rs 1 crore and a 4-year debarment.

The Committee recommends multi-shift exams, and the Centre has told the Supreme Court NEET will follow the JEE Main model.
Multi-shift is the only way to run lakhs of candidates on a finite pool of computer nodes.
